Sewing and Secondhand

Far more textiles are produced than the world needs. In Sewing and Secondhand, we breathe new life into discarded materials that still hold untapped potential. Hidden within them are valuable resources waiting to be rediscovered.

You will gain knowledge about different materials and learn what works best for various projects. You will also acquire essential techniques for sewing simple pants and bags.

You will learn how to confidently use a sewing machine and its many functions making it the perfect tool for creating new items from old materials and for extending the lifespan of existing ones.

Throughout the semester we will also work with design and aesthetics, helping you create pieces that are both functional and beautiful.
