Folkemødet on Bornholm

Democracy doesn't happen by itself. It only thrives when we take part. Speaking up isn't about drowning out others, it's about making a meaningful contribution. That's what we do at Folkemødet on Bornholm.

Every summer, we pack our bags with curiosity, ideas, and a sense of community as we head to Folkemødet on Bornholm. Denmark's largest festival celebrating democracy, debate, and community.

What do we do on Folkemødet?

Folkemødet means People’s meeting. It is a place where people with very different views come together to listen, discuss, and learn from one another. Politicians, artists, entrepreneurs, organisations, researchers, and thousands of young people gather to explore the issues shaping our society and our future.

You're not just a spectator

You choose which debates, talks, concerts, and events spark your curiosity.

Whether you simply want to listen or join the conversation and challenge the discussion with your own perspective is entirely up to you.

Perhaps you'll explore topics such as climate change, artificial intelligence, mental health, or entrepreneurship.

You might find yourself chatting with a government minister, a journalist, a sporting icon, or an activist.

Or perhaps the most memorable conversations will be the ones you have with your fellow students as you make your way between the many stages.

Take me with you!
