Main Subjects at Silkeborg Højskole
The main subject is your primary subject matter that gives you time for immersion in larger projects during the course of a full semester.
Our Main Subjects
The main subject is the course in which you have the most weekly lessons. In addition, on Immersion Fridays, entire days are dedicated to your main subject. In the autumn, there is also a full week devoted to in-depth work in your main subject. You must choose one main subject, which you follow throughout the entire semester. It is the only subject you need to select at registration.
Existential and Elective Subjects
At Silkeborg Højskole, we offer a wide range of subjects that are renewed each semester. Some courses are phased out, while new ones are added. Courses are chosen after arrival, with first to third preferences indicated. We always strive to accommodate as many first choices as possible.
The existential subjects run for half a semester at a time, giving you the opportunity to choose two existential subjects in one semester. Each semester, we replace a few of these courses to make room for new and exciting subjects.
