For centuries, world literature has predominantly referred to works authored by European or North American writers. Today, however, we recognize that world literature encompasses a far broader spectrum of authors from across the globe. Knowledge of the diverse literary creations of these authors—primarily fiction but including poetry, prose, and fairy tales—can serve as an essential stepping stone toward understanding the thoughts and actions rooted in specific cultural spheres. It also offers a profound source of insight into a people’s self-perception, their views on nature, and their worldview.
Literature helps us comprehend the world we live in and the people who inhabit it. It fosters cultural understanding and in a world that continues to grow more polarized, literature may serve as our lifeline.
This class seeks to instill a sense of discipline in students. Reading entire works will teach you the value and joy of starting something and seeing it through to completion. You will learn that by engaging fully in the process—from understanding how to read, beginning the reading journey, finishing it, and analyzing the reading experience— you can achieve a complete and cohesive understanding.
This subject is taught primarily in English.

Eksistensfagene kører 1/2 semester ad gangen, så du har mulighed for at vælge to eksistensfag på ét semester. Vi udskifter enkelte eksistensfag hvert semester for at give plads til nye spændende fag.
