At Silkeborg Højskole, travel is an essential part of your stay. Journeys expand your horizon, create strong communities, and bring learning to life. Trips are planned together with teachers and fellow students, offering a chance to dive deeper – into the world, and into yourself in meeting it.
Why Travel Matters
A folk high school journey is more than just a trip abroad – it’s a journey into new perspectives.
When we travel, we meet other cultures, people, and ways of living. This creates insight, curiosity, and engagement – and, not least, stronger bonds within the group traveling together.
Every spring and autumn, we set out on study trips. The destinations vary from year to year, but past journeys have taken us to Ghana, Jordan, Albania, Norway, and Berlin.
In addition, there are shorter excursions and trips during the semester.
