Traveling is an important part of your højskole education. As part of your application you must choose a study trip.
You also have the option of joining an Explorer trip to end your stay at Silkeborg højskole in style.
We follow the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ travel guidelines.

New York / Washington
In the power hub of the world democracy is on the ballot – and history is in the making. The United States is in the midst of an election campaign and we have a lot to explore.
Ghana
Join us on a discovery of Ghana. We arrive on the Gold Coast and travel inland through colonial history, development work, music, dance and cultural identity.

Adventures in Norway

Explorer-trips
The Explorer Trip is an extension of your stay at the Højskole. During your time at the Højskole, you will prepare for the journey in the associated elective class. We travel on open tickets, so when the common part of the trip is over, you have the opportunity to continue your travels on your own or with your friends. The only exception is the Nepal trip, which ends with a communal project in Denmark. We offer different trips in spring and autumn respectively.
